Uniform Guidelines

The Cub Scout Uniform, called the Field Uniform (or Class A Uniform), is an important part of being a Cub Scout.  Wearing it lets people know you belong to your Den, your Pack, and the Cub Scout program.  Unless otherwise specified, the field uniform should be worn to den meetings, pack meetings, and any special activities you participate in as a Scout.

For Lions (Kindergarten), the field uniform consists of the official Lion T-Shirt, and the official Cub Scout navy-blue web belt.  There is an official Lion hat, or you can purchase a Pack 204 hat that can be worn for the entirety of your Cub Scout journey. Any pants or shorts with a belt loop are allowed for Lions. There is an optional neckerchief and slide the den may choose to wear as well.

For Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos (first through fourth grades) the field uniform f includes blue Cub Scout pants or shorts, and the blue Cub Scout shirt with with the council strip, red numbers 204, world crest, and your den number, as well as any rank patches you have been awarded. Each rank has its own neckerchief and slide with rank colors, though our Pack has paracord woggles for slides, that are available at Pack Night.  The blue Cub Scout belt fits the belt loops earned in recognition of completing the advancement adventures.  Hats are available for each rank, or you can purchase a Pack 204 hat that can be worn for the entirety of your Cub Scout journey. Webelos scouts also wear the Adventure colors, detailed below. (Shirts purchased at the local Scout Shop usually have the Council Strip and World Crest already sewn on). A diamond rank badge holder is available for rank patches, if you would rather not sew them onto the shirt.

Arrow of Life Scouts wear the same uniform that will be worn when they join the troop.  The shirt is the tan Scout shirt, and the pants/shorts are Scout olive. The Scout olive web belt, or a leather belt with a Scout belt buckle may be worn.  The Adventure colors is a pin worn on the right sleeve with three ribbons, representing the colors of a Pack and Troop, on which the pins earned in recognition of completing the advancement adventures are displayed. When the Arrow of Light den(s) break into a patrol or patrols, they may choose to adopt a neckerchief and slide at that time. Official Cub Scout blue loops are worn on the shoulders of the shirt.

Please always wear closed toe shoes appropriate for running (crocs in "sports mode" are NOT ideal), especially when doing an outdoor activity.

Uniforms can be purchased at our local Scout Shop, located at 1 Independence Hill, Suite 202 (Brookhaven Town Hall).  For hours, please visit the Scout Shop website.

The Activity Uniform (also known as Class B), consists of a scouting appropriate t-shirt, scout pants/blue jeans/blue cargo pants/blue shorts with belt loop, and closed toe shoes. A Pack 204 t-shirt is a great way to show your Pack pride, and have an activity uniform, all in one!

Pack 204 Gear: In Fall and Spring, orders will be placed for Pack 204 gear. At that time you can order t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and/or hats.  A few items may be available in limited sizes in between this time, and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Clothing is available in Youth XS to Adult 5X, and hats are available in Youth or Adult, so parents and guardians are encouraged to order as well!

Leaders

Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders wear the official tan uniform shirt with the council strip, red numbers 204, den number, world crest, blue shoulder loops, and Den Leader or Assistant Den Leader Position Patch, with the official green shorts, long pants, skorts, or roll up pants. Den Leaders may opt to wear the Den Leader neckerchief, or any other BSA neckerchief (not a cub den neckerchief though) with either a slide or a woggle to match their den. Den Leaders may wear any adult BSA hat, or a Pack 204 hat, if they wish.

Cubmaster and Assistant Cub Master wear the official tan uniform shirt with the council strip, red numbers 204, den number, world crest, blue shoulder loops, and Cubmaster or Assistant Cubmaster Position Patch, with the official green shorts, long pants, skorts, or roll up pants. They may wear any BSA neckerchief and slide, as well as any adult BSA hat, or a Pack 204 hat, if they wish.

Committee Chair and Committee Members are not required to wear a uniform.  If they choose to, they would wear the same as the Cubmaster, however the position patch would reflect their position of Pack Committee Chair or Pack Committee.
